Remembering HUGO

This was the first Major Hurricane I worked . I'll never forget its destruction . I enjoyed working this one . People were different back then , they would come out of their houses and offer you food or a glass of tea , In the residential neighborhoods the kids would scurry down the street in front of our trucks hollering its the cable man , made you proud of the services we provided . You couldn't stop some where that someone didn't ask you to cut a tree or put up a street light back on their barn for them . I guess it being South Carolina and the good people there had a lot to do with it . People pulled together , not looting stealing and shooting each other . We didn't need the National guard to keep us safe . I wonder what this year will bring?? Ducks got an ominous feeling that we might get one that will pale all others in comparison . I've been doing some reading about the affects of Global Warming and if half of it is true this world will soon realize cataclysmic affects from it. The Giant Hail that tore through roofs in Texas is only a precursor of events to come .
