Re: Linemen or bucket babies

That's quite a message. I'm not sure of the mindset that calls a guy a bucketbaby. My dad taught me to climb when I was 18, and he had been with NW Bell before I was born, and then went to contracting. My dad was a pretty smart guy, and he always, and I mean always, told me to work smarter, not harder. And the older I got, the smarter you work. So to hell with climbing poles when you don't have to. I'm 41 now, still can climb a pole, but I'll let that bucket save my legs anyday.
The "old timers" had to climb poles all day to make a living. And they did. And they were tough. In the depression of the thirties, people ate dirt to survive, and they were tough.
I, and many others, are modern men and women, and we work smart, utilize technology to make the job easier, and still make a good living. And my dad, who is not a P----, wishes he had a bucket to work out of when he was climbing 30-40 poles a day.
So Mr. Graham, enjoy your hobby in your own way and stop with the name calling.
