Another time , I was assembling and installing emergency standby power supplies for AT&T in Georgia. These included thier own genrator . The above wiring requirements were the same , and also included the installation of a ground array ( a series of interconnected ground rods ) , for one ground rod was insufficient for both equipment and public/personnel protection.
These are just my experiences, but , I know they followed the local electrical code and safe electrical wiring practices. I suggest you contact the power company you will be connecting to, for thier suggestions and requirements.
