Mike Evans shed his hat, coat and watch and dived into the water.
He pulled Jack Bailey, 72, out of the car before it sank.
The Claremore man had suffered a seizure and his car slammed into the pond about 11:15 a.m. Monday near the Cherokee Casino, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. Bailey was treated and released from a hospital.
Evans, 31, of Kellyville, said he is used to responding quickly in emergencies.
"I grew up naturally around that reaction," Evans said. "My dad was a firefighter for 12 years when I was growing up. Most men I look up to, that's what they would have done."
