If your voices don't count then why do I take the time to read your posts? You count more than anyone, you are the producers and the face of the company dealing with the public. You guys do matter a lot. The perception that we are not all on the same team is created by speculation rather than through reality. All most of your bosses want each day is quality workmanship that he can use as a tool to get additional work and further stabilize his company, which in turn benefits everyone. The better your work, the more we can get, and the more often we get checks in the mail, the more stable we are..(back to my answer above). If you are doing well and getting paid often you don't bounce checks, or go out of business, or leave town in the night with a bunch of unpaid workers hot on your tail.
