Yeah, but what if you sign a contractor's agreement as most companies have you do today. I think if you voluntarily sign an agreement with a non-compete, it is in effect and you don't have a choice. Besides, how does the IRS make a call on this? The state labor board's can't even make a call because contractors are not employees. I'm not positive, but I think you'd better check into this with a "legal" source so you don't get into hot water.
