The ad was removed because it was repeated. The rule is that you can post an ad once, then if it hasn't gotten the desired result after at least a week a reply can be posted to the original stating this. This has been the policy for a long time, though not strictly enforced until more recently.

Look back in this category a few months for a message titled, "Duplicate Posts" for the detailed explanation. In short, repeats make the process of looking through ads more difficult. By keeping the ads free of repeats and other "junk" ads, more people find value in them and return to look more frequently, which ultimately makes all the ads more effective for everyone.

Sometimes an ad will be removed and a new one placed that is very similar, but with a slight change or addition. If this is done several days after the original, it's almost impossible to determine whether the change was important or simply to try to put the ad up near the top again, so in most cases it will be removed as a repeat. The easiest way to avoid this is to ALWAYS reply to the original noting the change instead of making a completely new ad. This helps people who have already seen the ad understand the change also.

The need to repeat some ads is understood, so Commercial accounts are allowed to repeat a single ad once per month. That is the only exception to the rule. Verified accounts are naturally trusted more than anonymous accounts thus may see more latitude before ads are removed, but the no-repeat rule applies there too.
