In Pennsylvania it is not legal for an employer to charge for comp.
If you are a sole proprietor you are not eligible for comp. If you are a corporation, and an employee of your corp, you may get comp. or sign a waiver. You are probably better off getting an inexpensive major medical without prescriptions and get didsability ins. That way if you get hurt playing you are covered. Also add loss of work to your auto policy so if you are injured in your vehicle you will be compensated for time off from work from the auto ins. as well. This is your livleyhood, Do not let anyone talk you in to paying for comp. I know someone who ended up on welfare because comp. refused his claim because he was technically a self employed individual. He was charged 13% by the prime for the eight months he worked there and he still was not able to collect.
