I also have to throw in for the 18v Dewalt.  It's a little heavy when you have it in a holster on your climbing belt in a back yard but one decent battery will last you all day splicing trunk and feeder.  Instead of carrying it into the easements get one of the Lemco ratchet handles.  Well worth the money and much lighter.  If it is only a core or two of trunk and the rest feeder it is almost as fast on feeder.
