Dude, if you have to ask how to do it, don't do it!
Never hitchhike the pole! That is for speed purposes only and speed isnt worth safety....if you must, keeping your strap around the pole is acceptable for climbing down IF it is a nasty pole. Besides, everyone else has failed to bring up the fact that it is impossible to hitchhike a pole that has tree limbs and bushes smack up against the pole. What are you going to do then? Take the time to cut all branches and limbs away frm the pole THEN hitch? LMAO! Hell no! You're going to climb the way everyone else that knows how to climb, climbs....Hand over hand!
