My $ 00.2 worth. Any noise below 20 dB below any return carrier should be looked at. As a 17 dB C/N or better is needded for QPSK modulation on the return path and 19 dB C.N or better is needded for 16 QAM. Electrical noise usually goes from 5 to about 16 to 18 MHz. Above these frequency CPD or other type of noise should be removed ASAP.
