Another serious problem with both kinds is they were developed for 450 MHz or less. The uniform spacing of the disks acts just like a notch filter and will cause severe attenuation at the wavelength of that distance. In fact I used to have a 'cheat sheet' that identified various MC2 cables based on that notch frequency
