This position will be responsible for scheduling turn key projects and recommending changes to the project as needed. The ideal candidate for this position should have experience with Oracle Primavera (P6) and some experience working in the telecommunications or a utility related industry. This position will report out of our Phoenix, Arizona office. This is a full-time; FLSA non-exempt; benefits eligible position reporting directly to the Project Manager.

Overview:

The Planner Scheduler position is responsible for the planning and scheduling of telecommunication turn-key projects and programs. They gather and analyze information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. They evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects. They must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. They need to rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. They perform a variety of tasks and may lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This position may also assist the project manager with other various project related tasks as needed or assigned by the project manager.

Responsibilities:

Pre-construction Management:

Create conceptual scope narratives from Client information.
Create and manage on overall milestone (critical path) schedule which includes all facets of the project development.
Manage the project(s) budgeting process which includes detailed estimate reviews, value engineering, project forecasting and scheduling.
Develop the procurement strategy and identify long lead time items specific to each project.
Work collaboratively with multiple members of the Pre-construction team which may include, Engineers, Project Managers, and Construction teams.
Develop effective relationships with internally and externally.
 
Project/Post-construction Management:

Produce detailed means and methods for the construction process and trade activities.
Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
Effectively manage the document control process and ensure constant communication with the Client and both internal and external Design Team members.
Perform other related duties as needed.
Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
Prepares project reports for management, Client, or others.
Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve schedule issues.
Coordinate project activities with government regulatory or other governmental agencies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, planning or related industry or field
5 years of experience in delivering Outside Plant Telecommunications services or utility related industry
CAPM, PMP or PMI-SP Certification is a plus
Experience working with Oracle Primavera (P6)
Valid Driver’s License
Must be punctual
Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees and vendors
Be available to work overtime and emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Maintain a positive attitude with team and have good work ethics.
Maintain good public relations (interact with the public in a courteous manner)
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Must be able to meet various types of deadlines to meet customer needs
Must be able to multi task, be patient, and helpful to team members as needed
Must have a good working relationship with field and managers
Must be able to pass company drug screen and background process
Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping a low to moderate amount of time while on shift.
The noise level in the work environment for this position is low.
Employees performing these job functions are required to lift or move up to 10 pounds and may frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed.
