Pauley Construction, LLC is looking for a Safety Coordinator to work out of our Phoenix, Arizona office. This is a full-time; FLSA Exempt, benefits eligible position. Must be bilingual in Spanish as an essential function of this position. This position will manage and oversee various safety processes and procedures while also conducting various safety checks and visits to ensure compliance with local state and federal guidelines. This position may include travel to other Pauley Construction sites as needed for employee training's or refreshers. Must be able to complete and maintain OSHA 500 series training annually along with company required training's.

Overview:

A Regional Safety Coordinator will only be needed in certain cases where an Officer of the company deems necessary. This position will be considered when an isolated region exists outside of a division, when a region or division is being developed, or when certain training, risks, or safety requirements are needed due to the nature and type of construction services being performed within a region or division. Projects that are large in scope may require a specific safety position by Pauley Construction or the customer. Other than these situations, the safety program will be managed by a Regional Manager within a division. Therefore, the job description of a Regional Safety Coordinator is similar to that of a Regional Manager, in that the Regional Safety Coordinator will perform similar duties within a region as within a division. When a Regional Safety Coordinator is not reporting to a Company Safety Director, involvement in the safety team of the company will be necessary.

The position of Regional Safety Coordinator will be responsible for assuring scheduling and completion of the Annual Calendar of all safety training needs with each management team within the assigned region as required by the safety program. This position will also assist the safety structure with solutions to trends and incident investigations when requested by the Company Safety Director.

The objective of the safety program and the role of a Regional Safety Coordinator are to place the responsibility and management of safety which includes the involvement in training, accountability, and discipline within each management team. The results and success of the safety program will completely be attributed to the effectiveness and focus on safety within each area team and business unit. It is the responsibility of each Manager and assigned business unit teams to assume complete ownership and accountability of the safety training received and the results according to guidelines of the safety program to include the annual safety goals set by the Company Safety Director. These annual safety goals will be an accident incident rate, total injury and illness rate, lost time day count, vehicle accident incident rate, and man hour rates for job or property damages. All business unit leaders will be measured on an accident incident rate. All other management teams will be measured on a total injury and illness rate. The Regional Safety Coordinator, and the operational management structure other than the business unit leader will be responsible to manage the TIIR in an effort to minimize anyone missing work due to an injury.

This position will be responsible for scheduling all required trainings within the region and ensuring required employees have completed all trainings within the required timeframe.

Responsible for scheduling all trainings, refreshers and safety orientations in the defined region.
Creating monthly safety agenda
Works with specific job sites on safety issues surrounding yard, equipment, job sites and employee practices.
Conduct routine job-site ad shop-office safety observations; making corrections as needed and filing the necessary documentation to fix issues as they arise.
Responsible for resolving all OSHA, DOT and legal citations received in the region and working to resolve and fix any issues with procedures as they arise.
Directly involved in the case management and oversight of all employee injuries from the time of notification to the conclusion and close of the case. This includes medical facility paperwork; reporting to the proper management and personnel the necessary information and following the proper escalation channels.
Maintains Drivecam system and ensures employees are abiding by the rules and regulations set forth to operate a company vehicle and making sure all city/state/municipal

Qualifications:

2-3 years of progressive trainer experience that includes general and/or construction industry experience and training standards.
Training certifications preferred
Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position.
Ability to have common sense understanding to carry out instructions that are provided in written, oral or drawn format. Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in many varied situations. Ability to collect, organize, disseminate and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts (measurements in terms of distance, proportions, percentages and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics including algebra and geometry.
Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as safety rules and requirements, machine manuals of operation, company policies and process procedures. Ability to write information including reports. Ability to speak effectively to customers, vendors and coworkers up through all levels of management and staff.
Ability to learn new technical systems
Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point)
Must have some proficiency with AutoCAD
Must have general computer knowledge.
Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
May be required to work after hours, on weekends or be on-call as work is needed.  
Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
Must possess excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low.
The noise level in the work environment for this position is low to moderate.
Employees performing these job functions may be required to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds in a shift.
Employees may be exposed to adverse and various weather conditions which can include extreme hot or cold temperatures, changes in terrain, urban or rural settings.
Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
