Starting Date

We are seeking a VP of Fiber Construction/Operation to join our NoVA team starting in March of 2019. This is a long term UG fiber pull & splicing project at data center locations throughout the NoVA area.

Pay Rate & Details

Salary commensurate with experience. The VP will report to our COO and oversee the timely and effective completion of multiple UG fiber pull and splicing projects of varying scope while ensuring financial objectives, KPIs & SLAs are achieved.

Qualifications

Successfully led construction engineering and business functions at a high growth telecommunications construction company.Strong business and financial acumen.Proven experience and success in managing a P&L budget.

Other Requirements

Experience with large UG fiber communication construction/splicing, public utility and/or government work highly desirable. Special consideration given to individuals with government telecommunications projects experience and those who possess current BI security clearance.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively lead a high growth telecom construction infrastructure business with responsibility for multiple field teams both in-house and contractor based.
Attract recruit and retain top talent and build a strong bench.
Execute assigned projects on time and under budget to our customer's satisfaction.
Develop and implement effective construction management strategies and drive profitable growth.
Manage subcontracting resources with accountability for subcontracting compliance and quality of work performed.
Implement construction activity to increase productivity and project delivery goals.
Successfully manage activity between functional departments including Finance OSP Operation, Project Management Human Resources and Safety.
Ensure high levels of performance.
Ensure customer satisfaction.
Develop and manage budgets project plans and schedules.
Engage employees and establish a positive work culture.
Represent our company in the community as appropriate.
Perform any other job duties associated with a senior leadership role as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Successfully led construction engineering and business functions at a high growth telecommunications construction company.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Proven experience and success in managing a P&L budget.
Consistent record of accomplishment within a leadership role.
Proven skill in developing and coaching team members to maximize their capabilities and skills.
Proven experience managing multi-site fiber-based telecommunication projects and a commitment to safety, quality and cost consciousness;
Demonstrated ability to attract recruit and retain top talent and build high performing teams.
Demonstrated experience in improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management;
Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint;
PMP other project/program management certification preferred;
Must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements
Experience in wireless, telecommunications, UG fiber construction, public utility and/or government work. Special consideration will be given to candidates who have worked on large federal government telecommunications projects and possess current BI security clearance.
Bachelor's degree or 10 year(s): Director level or above Telecommunications Construction Experience
