Qualifications
Triple-play cable and/or satellite installation experience. Viasat offers an online course followed by a 2 hour webinar. You only have to certify once, the number is yours. We'll gladly take new techs out for a day or two of OTJ training. You must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Job requires climbing on roofs and in crawlspaces/attics in all kinds of weather.
Other Requirements
This is a sub-contractor position. You'll need a truck/van/suv, appropriate ladders up to 28', all hand tools necessary including a drill, smartphone, laptop, and standard general liability insurance.
Job Description
Viasat is a satellite internet service. They offer unlimited packages with download speeds of 30, 50 or 100mbps, depending on the area. Installation includes mounting the dish to a pole or roof, running cable to the ground source and then to the modem. All jobs are live qc'ed by a conference app. This all but eliminates charge-backs. The first check is paid only 9 days after your first week is finished.
We cover a large area now that's only going to get bigger. We've been in the satellite installation business for over 10 years. Some of our techs have been here the whole time.
We are a fulfillment company (we pull installs straight from Viasat),there is no selling involved. You get a route on your phone the night before, you go do the job, you turn in a bill and get paid.
