This position will play a critical role in defining and maintaining new and existing processes while also being a business partner operating with our field offices as well as interfacing with the executive team. This position will require the ideal candidate to be able to work independently and be able to accomplish goals in a designated time frame. This position reports to the Controller. Overview:

The Assistant Controller is accountable for analyzing speci?c revenue recognition and costs across the organization related to major initiatives for Pauley Construction. The position will play a critical role in de?ning and maintaining processes, building detailed ?nancial models, analyzing activity and creating supporting documentation by working with team members from corporate ?nance, ?nancial IT systems, operational business units and key strategic leadership. They will partner to plan, deliver, sustain and continuously improve integrated processes with a primary focus on standard processes and standard system use at Pauley Construction for speci?c initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain detailed standardized ?nancial models related to revenue recognition and job costing related to speci?c companywide initiatives
Analyze subsidiary ?nancial information from multiple systems to support detailed models
Partnering with cross functional teams to develop streamlined approaches to accumulating data on go forward basis
Develop and/or support the development of presentations that deliver succinct/concise results to executive leadership
Create and maintain detailed process documentation
Serve as a primary liaison between Corporate Finance, field offices, external/internal audit and IT to ensure standardization of best practices for speci?c initiatives
Identify opportunities to reduce company DSO metrics, redesign business processes to facilitate execution, and develop routine reporting standards
Ability to travel up to 10-20% as needed for business purposes
Monthly financial close responsibilities up to and including account reconciliations
Other administrative duties as assigned by Controller

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance
Experience in Corporate Accounting / Finance
Previous experience in process design and implementation success
Six Sigma experience a plus
Strong Computer Skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, Experience with working in ERP environment
Ability to take ownership, accountability, and provide subject matter expertise in process area
Must have the ability to multi-task and organize e?ectively
Must be an e?ective communicator with the ability to in?uence change and the ability to tailor communications to speci?c audiences
Must have the ability to empathize with Operational and Executive Management and convey con?dence
Must demonstrate the ability to assess functional and technical gaps in process design
Ability to lead team discussions, solicit input and facilitate decisions in professional manner
Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and develops solutions to problems independently and through team discussions
Must be self-aware and willing to adapt to changing work environment
