Overview:

This position is a mid-level Project Manager. The Junior Project Manager will be responsible for a variety of tasks and projects as assigned. Typical tasks will range in size and complexity.  Basic understanding of the PMI project management life cycle is a must. The junior project manager may have direct reports that they will have work flow guidance over and will need to be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain and update program documentation.
Program task management (as assigned by Manager).
Develop and maintain program file system (physical and electronic)
Customer contact to obtain project specific information.
Estimate revenue and customer costs based on provided estimating tools and or works with others to develop estimates.
Complete project close-out per company standards. 
Accruals tracked weekly and turned in at the end of every week.
Scheduling work and crew make ups with scheduler for internal and external use.
Weekly manager and cost per man hour reports to stakeholders.
Review invoices from subcontractors to confirm production and accurate accounting.
Work with Accounts Receivable and Billing Department to make sure all revenue is accounted for and accurate.
Forecasting month and year for each project and program.
End of month explanations for variances in the forecast to actuals.
Set up new projects.
Create purchase orders.
Design review and estimate take offs.
Work with internal support groups (Finance & Accounting, Billing, etc.) to set up projects in accounting system.
Utilize and provide to management meaningful and timely reports using key performance indicators to aid in managing the health of the project.
Removing obstacles and empowering Operations to be successful
Constantly managing and monitoring project progress, risk and the quality of the customer experience
Coordinate project level activities. Include but not limited to critical path monitoring/alignment, procurement, resource loading/forecasting/conflict resolution and critical path risk identification/mitigation
Proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they become problems
Lead efforts to gather all project level status to report on program status to all stakeholders
Responsible for tracking change impact and delay impact
Forecasting and management of materials to facilitate the scheduled work on time and under budget    

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in an industry related field and combination of education and experience
2 -4  years of experience in delivering OSP Telecommunications services or utility related industry
Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position.
Ability to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions that are provided in written, oral or drawing. Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in many varied situations. Ability to collect, organize, disseminate and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts (measurements in terms of distance, proportions, percentages and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics including algebra and geometry.
Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as safety rules and requirements, machine manuals of operation and process procedures. Ability to write information including reports. Ability to speak effectively to customers, vendors and coworkers up through all levels of management and staff.
Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Must have general computer knowledge.
Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
May be required to work after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed.  
Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
Must possess excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
