Qualifications

Possess knowledge of procedures and equipment to identify and clearly mark existing underground cables as directed. Operate locate and bury drop equipment as required within areas of responsibility. Wear TAK approved apparel that clearly identifies you as a TAK employee. Possess knowledge of TAK Communications safety program, practice and enforce safety rules and procedures. Safely Drive/maneuver vehicle and cable trailer in and around construction sites, parking lots, etc.

Other Requirements

• Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (safety harness and ladders) within the maximum weight limitations of the equipment • Ability to carry, climb, operate and work upon an extension ladder, (approximately 28 ft high and 75 pounds) • Ability to operate a variety of drop bury equipment • Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for burying cable service drops with a variety of equipment, including bore rigs such as JT5 and JT9. Jobs involve customer contact, surveying property for obstacles, planning the bury route, performing physical labor in completing the drop bury, and restoration of property. This will be hourly with production pay.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

The work shall be constructed and completed in strict compliance with all laws, ordinances, rules and regulations (including occupational safety and health standards) of all governmental and public authorities having jurisdiction over the work.
Be knowledgeable and follow all One Call laws, rules and regulations.
Training on various types of equipment and all TAK requirements
attend weekly safety meetings held by TAK Communications.
Make careful examinations of the work site and of the plans, specifications, construction sheets and maps to become informed as to the location and nature of the proposed construction, existing utilities and the kind and character of the soil and terrain to be encountered.
Strictly adhere to the standard operating procedures provided by TAK Communications.
