Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screen. Valid state driver’s license and non-negligent driving record. Meet safety restriction weight limit of 275 lbs. Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs. Ability to visually perceive differences in wire and cable colors. Must be able to work flexible hours with the understanding that workdays can be in excess of normal hours and some weekend and holiday work may be required. Ability to be “on call” and “on standby” in relation to.

Job Description

Single Line HSI Self Install & Repair
No Bonding & No Vectoring

POTS Repair
Supplier personnel responsible for isolating trouble, repairing and re-establishing customer existing POTS service.
Outside Plant: Responsible for all wiring and interconnections in the outside plant (F1, F2, F3 and the drop to the customer home) to the customer premise demarcation (NID) and trouble isolation of basic cable trouble. Basic cable trouble includes attempting 5 pairs before referring to cable maintenance, shorts, grounds, opens, crosses, and accessible bridge tap. Service must meet all field standard-testing parameters.
Supplier Personnel will be responsible to not impact any other ITC services when completing POTS Repair. For example, a percentage of POTS Repair jobs the customer will also subscribe to HSI service over the same facility. In this instance, the Supplier Personnel must be skilled in both POTS and HSI skill sets.

Customer Premises:
Repairs voice service at customer premise. Work includes but is not limited to:
Performing site survey with customer to locate telephone and discuss scope with of work with customer
Validate wiring from Network Interface Device (NID) to inside jack
Test and acceptance of existing inside wiring or install new wire
Replace NID when necessary
Testing and inspection to ensure that activities performed and all services/equipment repaired function properly
Perform customer education and cleanup of customer premise
Complete work activity and process any applicable customer billing

HSI* Repair

Supplier personnel responsible for isolating trouble, repairing and re-establishing customer existing HSI service. This unit of work may include outside plant and/or customer premise trouble isolation and repairs. These skills are outlined below.

For example, a percentage of HSI Repair jobs, the customer will also subscribe to POTS service over the same facility. In this instance, the Supplier Personnel must be skilled in both POTS and HSI skill sets.
Customer Premises: Repair HSI service at customer premise that could include voice and data. Work includes but is not limited to:
Performing site survey with customer to locate telephone, computers and discuss scope with of work with customer
Validate wiring from Network Interface Device (NID) to inside jack where Residential Gateway (RG) is trouble free
Test and acceptance of existing inside wiring or install of new wire run from NID to RG
Ensure connectivity to one wireless and one wired computer if needed
Perform customer education and cleanup of customer premise
Complete work activity and process any applicable customer billing

HSI* Self Install

Steps to completed HSI Self Install
Facilities are assigned and technician is dispatched.
Technician reviews service order and determines assigned pair.
Note: ITC policy requires contact with the customer before, during, and after every task.
Technician wires and tests DSLAM port(s) for sync/ping/errors using xDSL-testing equipment.
If field connection tasks exist, the technician tests cable pair(s) to verify it meets loop requirements to support the assigned technology.
If applicable, technician wires and tests at customer NID (Network Interface Device) for sync/ping/errors using existing test equipment.
Technician qualifies or disqualifies service order.
Technician notifies customer the order is complete and closes ticket.
