Job Description
Job Summary: This position performs a variety of complex and technical office, design, & CAD duties related to the design of Outside Plant (OSP) telecommunication facilities.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the complete design of telecommunication distribution projects such as downtown underground projects, new facility projects, MDU’s, highway relocation projects, and other projects requiring the highest reliability
• Prepares site drawings and construction drawings for various telecommunication facilities in a cost-effective manner
• Interpret codes, standards, requirements, and guidelines for telecommunication projects
• Interpret engineering drawings and assisting with layout and design engineering work for construction
• Perform self-check and quality control of work for completeness, accuracy, client standards, and overall presentation
• Schedules and submits work to meet critical engineering design due dates
• Assist in the training of other engineering personnel
• Participate in and comply with company Safety Program and complete all training required
• Represent KGPCo to the community with attention to the highest standard of conduct, appearance, and attitude
• Perform other duties or responsibilities as required or assigned

• Experience or training in OSP design of copper and fiber optic facilities in aerial, underground, and direct buried applications
• Must have good communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders
• Must pay close attention to detail
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
