Job Description
Aerial Drop Technicians work Monday -Friday (Saturday's optional) from 7:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Techs are issued a list of property addresses each day and are provided maps documenting each fiber drop's path from the NAP at the pole all the way to the specific address. These maps will aid the techs as to the proper placement of the fiber drops.
Once the fiber is run from pole to pole and then to the house, they will mount the NIU near the other communications already attached to the house. Once this is done, a splicer crew comes along behind the drops crew and splices the fiber at the NIU. QC team comes along after that and checks the drop to ensure compliance with the required specifications and that they get a strong light reading of the drop.
Once QC has passed the drop's quality check, the drop is then billable.
