Qualifications

Candidate must be familiar with outside plant construction (power supplies in particular), design, and has excellent communication skills. Additionally, candidate must be competent in the preparation of field notes for AE, UG and ISP construction. The ability to work with minimum supervision to complete work in a timely manner is also required. Working knowledge of the following programs is preferred; Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, Google Earth, Auto CAD, and Adobe.

Other Requirements

As a 1099: Must have bucket truck/van, applicable GL/Workman’s Comp insurance, hand tools, fall protection equipment, safety equipment, cell phone, RF meter, conductance meter, step and extension ladders, VOM, and other electrical equipment/devices. As a W-2: To be provided.

Job Description

PURPOSE :

Responsible for survey of existing power supplies, creating BOM for upgrade of power supplies; QC upgraded power supplies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Works with completed electronic design and database information to prepare project authorizations, including all necessary supporting documentation.

· Gathers sufficient physical project information to initiate construction upgrade of power supplies

· Generates accurate project Bill of Material (BOM) requests to Management team.

· Report any unneeded, unused or re-usable project material and request the return of such material to the warehouse for credit back to project.

· Track and record each survey site.

· Ensures that all in-house and contractor work is completed to specification and according to the agreed-upon schedule.

· Compiles and delivers project site addresses, including all power supply identifier information to date entry for inclusion into the billing system records.

· Provides supporting information for budget re-estimates.

· Gathers accurate project as-built information and delivers to Management to update maps and databases.

· Remits plant activation and leakage records to the maintenance group to begin ongoing duties.

· Provides full and accurate information for entry into the billing system.

· This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

· Must be able to use computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Measure Map, Google Earth, etc.

EDUCATION :

· High School Diploma or equivalent is required; Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred.

EXPERIENCE :

· Minimum three to five years experience in CATV construction required.

· Ability to communicate effectively with external and internal customers, government agencies and developers.

· Ability to think through a problem, analyze and break it down into parts to resolve or come up with a logical solution.

· Must be able to interpret technical instructions in verbal, written, mathematical or diagram form including the ability to read and interpret system prints.

· The contractor must be able to safely drive a vehicle and while driving must not pose a threat to the safety of others.

· Must be able to use small hand tools, measuring devices and test equipment to verify work.

· Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling, and gripping.

· Must be able to hear and speak on a constant basis, primarily for safety reasons.

· Frequent climbing, balancing, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling.

· Frequent standing, walking and sitting.

· Ability to climb 20+ foot telephone poles and work off extension ladders on a frequent basis.

· Ability to work underground or in high places.

· Frequently communicates in person and by cell phone.

· Reading and typing on computer on a frequent basis.

MATERIALS AND SPECIAL EQUIPMENT USED :

· Valid Driver’s license and safe driving record.

· Must pass drug screen and background check
