Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. •Minimum of 12+ yrs. relevant managerial experience in the Cable/Telecommunications industry. •Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a large technical organization under strict budget guidelines and time lines. •Experience with developing and administering a large capital and operating budget.

Other Requirements

•Proven success in managing simultaneous multi-million dollar metropolitan construction projects related to the deployment of CATV/Telecom Networks. •Must be a team builder with exceptional communication and organizational skills. •Exhibit Problem Solving and Analytical / Strategic thinking. •Displays creativity and diplomacy to manage all aspects of the business. •Must be computer literate. Proficiency with MS applications including Excel. Experience with Oracle preferred.

Job Description

Provide leadership of Construction & Engineering departments at Wave Broadband initially with eventual leadership responsibility for RCN and Grande Communications. Position will report directly to Chief, Technology Officer. This position may be located in the Sacramento or Seattle area and anticipate frequent travel needed to support all company construction projects across the United States.

Responsibilities:
•Staff and manage a department of 200+ full-time Construction & Engineering employees.
•Provide management / leadership to a senior management staff including the VP/Director of Construction and associated staff.
•Ensure Fiber and HFC projects are done in a timely fashion within budget.
•Develop training and drive performance objectives for organization and staff members.
•Establish and drive engineering and construction schedules in order to meet or exceed Enterprise Sales objectives as defined by Executive Management.
•Manages construction of network from the design to execution through activation of networks.
• Secure agreements with contractors to support engineering and construction projects within budget and established timelines.
•Ensure that contractors are in compliance with all corporate, local, state, and FCC specifications and standards.
•Develop and oversee administration of large capital budget including material selection, purchasing, inventory and distribution.
•Ensures current and accurate costing in conjunction with finance.
•Manage headcount and operating expenses with variance targets.
•Collaborate with local General Manager and Senior Management team on market initiatives and activities to include; franchise negotiations, city and government relations, sales and marketing efforts, operational issues, financial budgeting and planning, and human resources staffing and employee relations.
•Perform other duties as assigned by CTO.
