Pay will be hourly based on experience. Tools, Bucket Truck and trailer Provided. Benefit package
Qualifications
Fiber Optic Lineman Experience Required. Ability to safety and efficiently climb and work from utility poles. Operate and work out of a bucket truck and be able to pull a reel trailer. Train less experienced lineman and ground hands.
Job Description
The Aerial Lineman position will work mostly in an outside plant environment placing, rearranging fiber lines. There may be times that you will have to work in schools and other commercial buildings. Installing fiber in conduit will also be part of the job.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Place aerial fiber cable
• Place fiber cable in conduits
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair overhead fiber lines
• Understanding of separation and clearance regulations
• Utilize standard telecommunications tools
• Read and interpret maps
• Keep detailed record of work activity
Skills/Requirements
• 1-2 years of aerial lineman, telecommunications experience preferred
• Properly climb poles with ability to safely use ladders
• Proficient in new build fiber installation and pole transfers
• Interpret engineering work plans
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to carry 75-80 lbs., to include an extension ladder.
• Must be able to work at heights of 20'+
• Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb and lift throughout work shift
• Work emergency outages when required
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver’s license
