All positions require a valid CA DL. All positions are salaried and include a company vehicle, phone and laptop. Health, dental and vision insurance are available. Two weeks paid vacation after 1 year. Preference given to Central and northern CA residents. Temporary (60-day) lodging provided for successful out of area candidates. Out of area hires will bear relocation costs with reimbursement upon successful completion of a probationary period.

Job Description

Job Descriptions:
Technical Management candidates will be responsible for collaborating with the Senior Project Manager to plan, schedule and execute strategies for the successful technical operations of a variety of projects. This will include the recruitment and training when necessary of fiber and coax technicians and splicers to perform network expansions, node splits and retro-fits.

OSP Construction Management candidates will have end-to-end responsibility for the construction of all outside cable plant. This includes the planning necessary to ensure accurate forecasting of manpower requirements, material delivery, equipment availability, permitting requirements, regulatory compliance (GO95 and GO128 as applicable) and will serve as the primary liason to the OSP engineering group.

Both Management positions will provide advice and guidance to other departments including engineering, and warehouse to ensure that schedules are maintained. Managers will also participate in regular planning and update meetings at the customer’s request. Managers (with staff) are responsible for all reporting activities within the scope of their projects. This includes the accurate and timely delivery of all receivables (QC reports, material inventories, test results, as-builts etc.) to the customer.

Supervisors will be responsible for the quality and safety oversight of crews under their direction. This includes ensuring that all crews maintain best practices and craftsmanship. Supervisors have frontline responsibility for the productivity of their crews. Supervisors are responsible for the daily work planning and the first receipt and approvals of all crew related documents (time sheets, accident reports, etc). Supervisory responsibility also includes the inspection of tools, equipment and vehicles to ensure adherence to company security and safety policies.


Qualifications for Technical Management positions:
Minimum 5 years of experience in technical operations with a large contractor or MSO with at least two years in a management and/or supervisory capacity. Must be well versed in fiber optic node technology, powering, RF and coax design. Experience and a demonstrated understanding of FTTX architecture, node decongestion and node split processes. Manager must have thorough understanding of processes for fiber optic performance testing including forward and reverse sweep, ingress and DOCSIS testing. Must have strong organizational and planning skills with a verifiable history of successful leadership.



Qualifications for Construction Management Positions:
Minimum 5 years OSP telecommunications experience with at least 3 verifiable years in a management role. Must be expert in either aerial or substructure construction with strong preference for both.

Aerial managers must have thorough understanding of GO95, make-ready, fiber and coax construction, permitting and design review.

Underground managers must have thorough understanding of GO128 with extensive experience in running directional drill and/or rocksaw crews. Additionally, managerial candidates must have verifiable experience in job-cost forecasting, equipment and asset management as well as job-site safety enforcement.

Qualifications for Supervisory positions:
Supervisors must have a minimum of 4 years industry experience with a history of increasing responsibilities. Technical Supervisors must have demonstrable proficiency in their area of expertise, (fiber splicing, performance testing etc.). Construction Supervisors must have the same qualifications in their area of responsibility (aerial construction, UG construction, permitting etc.).
