Low Voltage Technician

Residence in the greater Grand Rapids area. Ability to travel out of town often Monday-Friday.

Qualifications
•Able to safely and efficiently work independently and within a small work group
•Knowledge of secondary DC power work, wire wrapping, fiber testing *BICSI Certification is a plus
•Ability to work at heights, including frequent ladder use and operation of scissor/man lifts
•Present self in positive, businesslike manner, representing TurnKey core values
•DOT Medical Certification, or ability to obtain Med Card in timely manner (with Company assistance)
•MI Chauffuer's Drivers License
Other Requirements
Acceptable driving record. MI Chauffeur's License and DOT Medical Certification card (or ability to get them).Ability to climb and work from ladders. Ability to work in small spaces.
Job Description
Experienced Low Voltage Cabling Technician
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
•Installation of fiber optic cabling systems, transport equipment and fiber optic cables. Includes work within datacenters, communication rooms, central offices, schools, hospitals, private businesses, security routes, and the like.
•Pulling, installing, termination and testing of low voltage fiber optic cabling
•Build out of cabling infrastructure, including cages, trays, racks, ladder racks, j-hooks, d-rings
•Use of CAT 5E, CAT 6 cables and auxiliary equipment
•Placing of EMT and corrugated innerduct conduit
•Able to pull and terminate self-provisioned fiber
•Follow industry and Company standards and guidelines with installation of transport equipment, cabling and low voltage work
•Ability to efficiently plan and perform work, think ahead, foresee and eliminate concerns, troubleshoot and share corrective ideas
•Complete work as directed by jobsite lead, or lead others in a respectful and efficient manner
•Assisting in training of less experienced technicians
•Preventative maintenance of equipment, including vehicle, computer, phone, hand and power tools, testers, etc.
•Maintain clean and safe work site
