Qualifications
• 3-5+ years experience of Fiber Splicing preferred
• Knowledge of Cat 5, 5E, and 6 cabling preferred
• Hands on Splicing fiber optics
• Strong knowledge of OTDR Testers
Other Requirements
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends as required
• Willing to travel when necessary
• Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record
• Must pass a DOT physical and Drug Screening
• Must Pass Background Check
Job Description
Broadband Access Services Inc. is seeking experienced Fiber Splicing Technician. Fiber Splicing Technician will be responsible for splicing fiber, as well as for the installation and operation of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant Fiber Optic Networks.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Fiber Splicing
• Responsible for cable terminations on cross connect, patch panels, hubs and routers
• Familiar with industry testing equipment
• Validate and test end to end service provisioning for the Outside Plant fiber network.
• Accurate cable terminations on cross connect, patch panels, hubs and routers.
• Conducts pre-installation terminating, splicing and testing.
• Will be responsible for daily workmanship and production on the job.
• See that all documentation is completed daily and correctly
• Assist with the continual training of others in the group.
• Keep updated and report accurately to team leader/managers.
