Qualifications
Experienced Aerial Crews capable of Fiber and Coax,All crews must be ready to Must have all your own trucks, equipment, safety equipment, tools, required insurance and experienced crews ready to get to work. Coax splicing ability is a huge plus, but not required.This job is in the rural areas it is wide open all trucks is averring well over 5K feet per day.
Other Requirements
On time paperwork.Must have all necessary equipment to perform aerial construction. Bucket truck, climbing gear, ladders, lashers, rollers etc. Fully outfitted.
Job Description
The Aerial Lineman works in an outside plant environment placing, rearranging and removing poles and lines. As an aerial lineman, you’ll install lines and cables (including fiber) using various construction equipment. You'll also inspect previously installed infrastructure to make sure it's working properly. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Properly climb poles with ability to safely use ladders
• Place aerial coax and fiber cable
• String and maintain wire (Pulling, Fiber Splicing, Clipping, Stranding & Spacing Line)
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair overhead fiber lines
• Understanding of separation and clearance regulations
• Utilize standard telecommunications tools
• Read and interpret maps
• Keep detailed record of work activity
Skills/Requirements
• 1-2 years of aerial lineman, telecommunications experience preferred
• Properly climb poles with ability to safely use ladders
• Proficient in new build, coax & fiber installation and pole transfers
• Interpret engineering work plans
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to carry 75-80 lbs., to include an extension ladder.
• Must be able to work at heights of 20+’ feet
• Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb and lift throughout work shift
• Work emergency outages when required
• Must have high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver’s license
