QualTek USA, LLC is a turnkey provider in the telecommunications industry. QualTek's Executive Management Team is comprised of seasoned telecommunications professionals with vast experience in Operations, Finance, Safety & Risk Management, Human Resources, Logistics and Mergers and Acquisitions.
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting activities of the payroll department via payroll preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for multiple companies and states.
Primary Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain employee/payroll records
Check and audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards
Maintain time and attendance records
Calculate and record payroll deductions
Validate personnel changes; including pay increases, department transfers, position changes, etc.
Enter changes in employee tax status and miscellaneous changes
Process involuntary deductions, such as garnishments and wage levies
Enter new hires into employee database
Calculate final pays and process quick calculations and manual checks as needed
Submit, review and accept payrolls
Create and run reports with HRIS system
Assist with payroll systems maintenance
Keep abreast of multi-state payroll laws
Requirements :
Education:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
Must possess knowledge of principles and practices of payroll administration
Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now functionalities
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel
Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels
Technical Skills:
Ability to calculate checks either manually or through payroll software (ADP Systems)
Ability to transmit, process, check and accept bi-weekly payroll
Soft Skills:
Highly organized and detail orientated
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and professional boundaries
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day
Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day
