Job Description

SWEEP TECHNICIAN
3-5 years of field experience required with references available upon request.
Qualifications
• Able to fluently read, write and speak the English language
• Expert with CLI, RF signal, troubleshooting, MDU cleanup and can demonstrate use of sweep meter.
• Pass drug screen and background check
• Capable of splice or re-splice passives and activate /reactivate forward and return paths and Re-powering.
• Capable of forward and return sweep, noise mitigation, and complete customer assigned trouble calls.
• Expertise with HFC design standards and operating requirements for equipment including Arris, Cisco, and ATX.
• Capable of Node Splits, Segmentation, and Optimization.
• Capable of making plant repairs and basic new build construction methods.
• Work in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
• Willingness to work shifts as assigned, maintenance windows, and including daily overtime when necessary.
• Able to extensively travel throughout Americas. Have valid passport and driver’s license.
• Must be certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber.
• Must be able and familiar with bucket truck operations.
• Experienced with related vehicles including bucket truck and boom operation, safety standards, basic vehicle maintenance.
• Must be completely familiar with all required hand tools and climbing gear needed to perform the functions of the position.
• Able to perform the physical tasks required in this position for the entire assigned shift.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Self-supervise assigned work ensuring tasks are completed in accordance with customer, manufacturer, and industry specifications and standards.
• Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary
• Ensure that all needed tools and equipment are available at the jobsite
• SDA-5000 or DSAM-6300 preferred
• Confirm needed product and installation materials are available at site.
• Work from engineered blueprints and keep track of production. Resolve complaints with property owners in areas that you’re working. (Talk to residents & explain what it is we are doing).
• Fill-out daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built.
• Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.
