Job Description

Velocitel, LLC, a division of QualTek Management, LLC, is a wireless network services company delivering a complete suite of professional services to acquire, design, engineer, implement, upgrade and maintain wireless infrastructure sites.

Velocitel is able to provide full regional coverage for all size telecom projects throughout the U.S. via 15 fully staffed and provisioned office and warehouse facilities located in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Virginia, Illinois, North Carolina, Georgia, Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, California and Oregon. Our corporate national support group allows us to quickly deploy resources to accommodate regional or national projects throughout the continental United States, as required.

The Field Safety Inspector will ensure self-perform and subcontractors are complying with internal, client and OSHA safety standards. This position assists in coordinating safety training programs and objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Conduct daily walk through inspections and audits of Velocitel
constructions sites
• Visit with crews and subcontractors to ensure safe work practices
• Conduct regular vehicle safety inspections and audits
• Recognize imminent danger and act accordingly to correct it, up to and
including shutting down sites based on safety concerns
• Assist with accident/injury investigations and root cause analysis
• Promote safety oriented behavior at all field locations
• Issue Corrective Action Notices (CANs) to the field for safety related
violations
• Assist with all safety record keeping applications
• Conduct mandatory weekly safety meetings with field employees and
managers
• Assist Safety Manager, HR and management team to identify training
needs, tools and resources
• Other duties as assigned

Experience:
• 1-3 years of progressive field safety experience
• In depth knowledge of local, state and federal regulations regarding,
but not limited to Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA)

Technical Skills:
• Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency

Soft Skills:
• Highly organized and detail orientated
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication
skills

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background
and drug testing
• Individuals must have a valid driver’s license and driving record
meeting the company policy conditions
• Comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor work environment (direct
exposure to sun, heat and cold) and in extreme
weather conditions if necessary
• Ability to stoop, stand, sit, climb, handle items with hands and
fingers, see clearly 20ft or more, talk and hear clearly
• The ability to work weekends, nights, and unpredictable hours
• Travel may be required and the ability to commit to long term on site
assignments
