Requirements : Education: Associates degree and 1-3 year's experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience: Ability to read and interpret utility engineering drawings and plans Understanding of copper, fiber and/or CATV design standards and requirements Knowledge of fiber network design

Job Description

All aspects of CAD, RF and Fiber design will ultimately be part of the work requirement. If you have CAD or Design experience we can work with that and expand your knowledge through training in house. Some of the job duties are outlined below, but based on experience we will work you into the other duties.
Greenfield/Joint Trench requests using the design architecture that applies Node+0 or cascaded design specs
Metro-E requests using 1 Fiber Solutions and Muxing design specs
BAU requests (SMB,SFU,MDU, Forced Relocates, ect..) as assigned
Draft permits and support documents in various formats
Draft As-built updates for project reconciliation
Interpret field notes to compile proposed design for running line and/or structures
Work through Node Segmentations and Cascade Reductions as directed
Post accurate RF and Fiber routing conclusions that reflect cost estimate for the availability request using Google Earth and Customer Records
Establish and maintain effective communications and professional working relationships in order to collaborate on and troubleshoot any issues
Other duties as assigned

Requirements :
Education:
Associates degree and 1-3 years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:
Ability to read and interpret utility engineering drawings and plans

Understanding of copper, fiber and/or CATV design standards and requirements

Knowledge of fiber network design

Technical Skills:
Advanced CAD skillset
Spatialnet, and MicroStation experience preferred but not required
Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency, including use of graphics, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet applications
