Qualifications

Education: Associates Degree in a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; technical certifications or training; or work experience. Qualifications: 10-15 years of directly related experience supporting engineering operations.

1. Prior experience working with contractors and ensuring that approved construction practices are being followed during the performance of work. 2. Must have full knowledge of industry (SCTE/NCTA) construction practices and construction specifications. 3. Supervisory experience is required. 4. Team oriented. 5. Persuasive interpersonal skills. Communicate in a straight-forward, and professional manner.

Job Description

Position Summary:
As a quality control inspector, you are responsible for performing daily inspections on telecommunications installations, outside plant and inside plant, to identify substandard or incorrectly installed elements on multiple projects that are at various stages of construction.

Responsibilities:

1.? Perform site inspections for quality control. Inspections will be performed utilizing quality control checklists, applicable TIA/EIA industry standards, project specifications, and approved construction drawings. Installation efforts, deficiencies, and deviations will be documented by photograph. Deficiencies and deviations are reported by the quality control inspector to the onsite project manager for further action, correction or acceptance.

2. Quality control inspectors are responsible for enforcing corrections or developing solutions. The inspector will attend construction meetings, preparatory meetings, or other relevant meetings to obtain scheduling information and other key information regarding installation requirements. Accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices.

3. Adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policies. Work effectively with government entities.

4. The inspector will attend construction meetings, preparatory meetings, or other relevant meetings to obtain scheduling information and other key information regarding installation requirements. Provide project status upon request. The quality control inspector will create weekly quality control reports annotating observations and monthly reports documenting inspection efforts.

5. QC inspections include, but are not limited to: inspections of maintenance hole and duct bank installation, inside plant, cable termination, rack/cabinet installation, and building entrance. On-site QC inspections include on-the-spot and/or random inspections and will include, but not be limited to the inspections listed above. A final QC inspection will be conducted prior to a final acceptance. During the final inspection, the contractor will verify the redline drawings and inspect all completed installation.

6. Carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 28 feet high and 75 pounds).

7. Read general layouts from blueprints and system CAD drawings.

8. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
