Pay
Hourly, nonexempt position with full benefits package including 401k, health, dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, and accident coverage.
Qualifications
• Experience in UG and/or Aerial coax and fiber construction preferred • Ability to work around hazardous equipment and near energized parts • Endurance to perform throughout a standard 8 or 10 hour day according to schedule • Lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis, and up to 10 pounds on a continuous basis • Must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time • Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
Other Requirements
• Travel is required - must be flexible to work in multiple locations • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Job Description
The Groundman is responsible for assisting the team in all essential duties on the site. This position is expected to take on additional responsibilities when needed in order to ensure that app work is completed efficiently and on time.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Stock truck with stock for the day’s job assignment
• Check oil and do VIR before every shift
• Responsible for general organization of truck and cleanliness of truck both in and out
• Accountable for correctly indicating job(s) assigned to on time clocks for job in/out
• Conscientious regarding the safety of him/herself at times as well as the safety of every other crew member or individual on the job site
• Performs all work from the ground and may assist in aerial devices and ladders
• Clears work area and maintains safe job site conditions.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or fiber as required.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the line person or apprentice.
