Qualifications
HIGH SCHOOL OR EQUIVALENT DIPLOMA IS REQUIRED. 2-5 YEARS FIELD EXPERIENCE IN FIBER SPLICING & RESTORATION. MUST BE AN EXPERIENCED FIBER OPTIC SPLICER. Must understand the underlying theories and concepts of broadband communication and including fiber optics and Metro Ethernet networks. Strong PC skills are required. Ability to use advanced test equipment like OTDR’s, optical power meters and other fiber testing equipment as required.

Job Description
FIBER OPTIC SPLICER
• Read understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness
• Operate technical equipment, including but not limited to computer, OTDR, Power Meters, fusion splicing equipment, and understand the functioning thereof
• Completion of daily production reports to document work performed
• Use of hand tools, ladders, and equipment to assist in the completion of an assigned project
• Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Lift and manipulate splice enclosures and other plant and equipment
• Work safely, with or without supervision
• Work comfortably in cramped and/or enclosed spaces for extended periods
• Work aloft, either from a ladder, aerial lift device, or by gaffing
• Proficient in the use of telecom construction equipment. (Aerial Lifts, Lashers, Meters, etc.)
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills are necessary
• Authorized to work in the United States
