Hourly pay range approx. $20.00 to $25.00 - depending on experience. Negotiable.
Qualifications
• Requires an Associate’s Degree in a Surveying, CAD or Engineering related field and 4 - 5 years of related experience (technical knowledge of the telecommunications and/or civil engineering industry, utility construction practices
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering plans and construction drawings.
• Must be able to demonstrate efficiency and accuracy in producing complicated civil type CAD drawings

Position Summary
The Engineering-Survey Technician performs site surveys, prepares CAD drawings and assists with permitting, in accordance with company policies, procedures, quality standards, and timeframes necessary to meet customer delivery requirements.
This position will frequently perform work utilizing several software packages including AutoCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Use GPS and other equipment to gather field data for underground permits.
• Use OSP field equipment to gather utility pole line information.
• Prepare project documentation, maps, and CAD drawings. Aid in research and acquisition of permits and rights-of-way.
• Abide by and issue prints adhering to industry and construction codes, practices and safety standards under the direction of OSP Engineers.
• Stay current in new developments in the industry
• Develop working relationships with Management, Project Managers, Foremen, and co-workers to address and resolve problems and work in a cooperative manner to achieve company goals.
• Act as a technical resource for field support of customers, sales, and operations, assisting in and addressing and resolving questions and problems.
• Accurately complete timesheets, expense reports, mileage reports, and other job related paperwork.
• Communicate with customers about project progress where applicable.
• Other duties as assigned by Management.
