Job Description
TelCom Construction is an established national underground utility contractor with growing market presence within the telecommunications industry. We are currently seeking a BSW/Drops Area Supervisor for immediate hire to work out of our Clearwater, MN location.
The BSW/Drops Regional Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the Buried Service Wire workload including managing assigned employee and/or subcontractor assignments and work order completion. In addition, this position manages other specific field operations ranging from scheduling to quality control. The job duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
Project Management:
1. Collects and analyzes data and develops corresponding decision support reports.
2. Observes the current workflow in operations, gathers and analyzes information about each process component to reduce backlog.
3. Maintains proper knowledge & understanding of the CTL RUS 515 units
4. Oversees new job entry & job distribution
5. Communicates directly to Department Manager, and field supervisors.
6. Resolves denied billing issues with the customer
7. Oversees Subcontractor work area assignments.
8. Oversees daily distribution of work orders to the field
9. Answers contractor questions regarding work orders, material, units, billing and contract requirements.
10. Answers customer and CTL complaints regarding contractor work.
11. Aids in subcontractor recruitment & maintenance
12. Properly communicates with customer supervisors, managers, technicians and customer subscribers.
13. Oversees the scheduling of in-house construction crews.
Quality Control Field
1. Handles quality complaints from Customer, customer subscribers, permit authorities and population at large.
2. Performs Liaison duties between CTL and QC staff.
3. Collects and disseminates QC reports for Sub-contractor grading and review.
4. Oversees timely billing from in-house crews and subcontractors
5. Oversees tracking and completion of problem orders with customer.
May occasionally travel to field locations as necessary
Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have working experience and knowledge of the telecommunications drop process and basic Accounting or related knowledge. In depth knowledge of CTL RUS 515 units is required. This position requires exceptional organizational, communication (both verbal and written) skills and problem solving skills. Previous accounting software experience is preferred, proficient database, internet and Microsoft Office Suite experience is required; G-mail and other Google apps experience is a plus! The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently as well as on a team with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
