Pay
This is a full time regular employee position. Pay is based on relevant experience and then performance and ease of management. Annual bonus opportunity and nightly out of town per diem. Tools are provided.
Qualifications
Technician is responsible for system outages, trouble shooting and maintenance repairs. Qualified applicants will be proficient in using OTDR's, bucket trucks, termination tools, fusion splicers, etc. Aerial experience is preferred.
Ability to travel Monday-Friday on a regular basis and work day and night shifts within the same week if necessary. Able to be in an on-call rotating schedule for after hours and weekends.

Must have a valid driver’s license, minimal traffic violations and ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Med Card and Michigan chauffeurs (or equivalent) endorsement.
Job Description
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
• Splice fiber optic cables using single and mass fusion equipment
• Terminate fiber in wall mount and rack mount termination panels.
• Test fiber and evaluate fiber losses utilizing industry tools required for fiber optic testing.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans, schematics, and the like.
• Ability to work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
• Ability to maintain clean and operational hand, electric, and hydraulic tools.
• Install required capsules and hardware
• Maintain existing plant without causing signal failure interruptions
• Maintain test documentation
• Maintain project tracing information (production sheets, time sheets, and customer required paperwork)
• Keep a safe working environment
• Required skills/qualifications
• Proficient at completing certification testing of fiber optic systems
