Job Description

NX Utilities is looking for a Laborer in the San Antonio area.

To perform general labor and site utility work in a construction environment as necessary for commercial or residential construction projects.


Primary Responsibilities:
-Assist crew lead and/or local field management in construction work
-Assist with the handling and placement of conduit and cables
-Maintain equipment as necessary and according to safety specifications
-Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
-Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces
-Load/unload equipment and tools
-All other duties as assigned

Requirements :
Education:
-High school diploma or G.E.D. plus 1 years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


Experience:
-1+ year of construction, maintenance, or labor experience
-Proven knowledge of locate markings


Technical Skills:
-Ability to use hand tools daily
-Ability to maintain equipment
-Proven proficiency in the handling/placement of conduit and cables


Soft Skills:
-Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions
-Effective listening, interacting and writing skills
-Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
-Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills


Physical Requirements:
-Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
-Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions
-Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 75 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
-Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
-May be required to work long and unpredictable hours in all types of weather
