Qualifications

Seeking very experienced Fiber Splicer to prep enclosures, splice single fibers, test and troubleshoot as needed. Need to have experience with fusion splicing (single & ribbon), preparing of wall mounts and tyco enclosures, new case build, re-entrys, ring cuts, power metering and OTDR traces.

Other Requirements

Would prefer candidate have his own hand tools, truck and laptop. We supply all splicing & testing equipment. Would have to be able to pass drug screening and background check, have a valid drivers license, be willing to work outside exposed to weather. Be able to perform the physical tasks required for an entire shift and extended periods. Administratively, be able to complete time sheet, production sheets, test packages, uploading of pictures, updating supervisor on progress or problems.

Job Description

Be able to communicate well with supervisor. Receive prints and work for the day, be able to read and understand work given. Be able to ask questions if there's something not understood and be willing to ask for help as needed. We hold our team to very high standards and expect the best performance possible from each team member. Be willing to notify supervisor throughout the day of progress. Be able to think on your feet and adjust to changing circumstances and change orders. Also be able to think with the entire projects outcome and communicate if you see something that is not right or that could be done while you're out on the job site for the day. Initiative, communication, responsibility and pride in workmanship is the name of the game.

Complete all prep, splice, test per work orders and daily instructions given, in accordance with the industry and customer specific requirements & standards. Complete high quality, neat, clean and superior spicing and fiber management in the trays. Take pictures of completed work at each location. Analyze testing results and understand the readings

Work with fellow splicers as team members and be willing to put in extra time to complete deadlines if the ocassions arise.

At the end of the day complete, with accuracy, excel based production sheet and/or timesheet and upload electronically. Upload pictures for each location completed. Update splice docs electronically. Complete PDF asbuilds.

Hours can vary depending on cable placement and job readiness, such as less than 40 hours one week and more than 50 hours the next week. However, we are mindful and do our best to keep a steady and standard schedule as much as possible.

-Lifting/Carrying (50-100lbs) daily
-Bending/Twisting (6-8 hours) daily
-Standing (6-8 hours) daily
-Repetitive Motion (strip/cleave/splice) 6-8 hours daily
-Walking (6-8 hours) daily
-Pushing/Pulling/Lifting (6-8 hours) daily
