Job Description
Ripley's Cable & Sons, Inc. is currently hiring Foreman's, Linesman, and Groundsman to perform Aerial Construction Communication tasks for Fiber Optic, Copper, and Coaxial Cable systems for both new and existing applications in a variety of environments. Must be experienced in bucket truck operation; new cable construction; pole transfers;strand building; cable placing;lashing; make readies, and figure eighting. Perform daily duties in a safe manner, professional working attitude with co-workers/customers; uphold quality workmanship.
The Groundsman will assist the Lineman in various aspects of line maintenance, repair and construction. Duties performed include prolonged standing, sitting, crouching, and stooping. Must be able to push, pull, lift and position tools, equipment and materials in excess of 75 pounds.Knowledge and experience working in close proximity to power lines, basic knowledge of occupational hazards, and proper safety precautions preferred. Must have a valid driver's license, pass DOT physical and drug screen.
