Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
-High school diploma and minimum 2-5 years splicing experience
-Must be able to lift at least 80 pounds on an occasional basis -Must be capable of performing routine construction related activities such as pole climbing, climbing ladders, and using common hand tools, etc.
-Must have an understanding of RF and Fiber-optic technologies
-Must have an understanding of CATV technologies including headend, plant design, and layout
Other Requirements
Preferred Education and Experience
5-10 years of Experience Fiber splicing and knowledge a plus
Job Description
Title: Sweep Technician
Division: Construction
Reports To: Supervisor
Revision Date: 06/21/2017
Summary/Objective: Responsible for activation, sweep, and troubleshooting 2-way telecommunication systems.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Follow and execute work assignments
• Work Independently
• Operate aerial lift and other related equipment required to perform work
• Use various tools and equipment including but not limited to sweep gear, RF meters, power meters, and TDR’s.
• Troubleshoot coax and fiber hybrid telecommunication systems
• Splicing Coax
• Optimizing Nodes
• Sweep, balance, and activate two-way telecommunication systems
• Organize materials, tools, and equipment
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as becomes evident.
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times
Required Education and Experience
