Minimum 5-7 years of experience working specifically in Network Upgrades or as an Active Line Technician
Job Description
• Perform field surveys and return accurate as built maps and related information.
• Perform COAX splicing in Outside Plant Networks (OSP) to include removal & replacement of existing equipment as well as the installation of new equipment in both aerial and underground locations.
• Perform meter balancing of signals on the forward and the return path of the network.
• Perform Node Splits to include all coax splicing, pigtail transfer, and node optimization.
• Isolate and repair issues affecting downstream performance.
• Isolate and repair, or filter, upstream noise issues affecting up stream performance.
• Isolate and repair issues affecting 60 and 90 volt power distribution in the COAX network.
• Remove & Replace or install new power supplies in both ISP and OSP.
• Perform FWD & RTN sweep testing to include proper equalization and amplifier alignment.
• Perform metallic TDR Testing.
• Perform optical OTDR Testing.
• Perform optical fiber splicing to include working in active enclosures.
• Install DWDM and WDM Mux units in OSP enclosures.
• Perform wiring, testing, and optical link optimizations at HUB Sites/OTN’s.
• Perform installation and optimization of RFoG V-Hubs to include installation of 1x32 optical couplers in Distribution Cabinets at Fiber to the Unit/Home New Build locations.
Your role will be to perform the duties of a COAX/Fiber Line Tech working in VA, MD, DC, DE, and WV.
