Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have OSP Engineering work experience, knowledge of City/County ordinances in regard to utility structure, be familiar with both copper and fiber optic cable and RUS Unit-based contract Engineering. Must be extremely detail oriented and exhibit exceptional organization and communication skills (both verbal and written).

The successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to represent the company with integrity and support the organization’s values and goals and maintain a positive relationship with its customers. Must have good computer skills including Microsoft Office suite, database management and Engineering Design Software. Individuals with experience working with Microstation/Autocad, OSP Viewer, NDS Design, Fireworks and/or BidMaster are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Description

TelCom Construction is an established and growing national telecommunications utility contractor headquartered in Clearwater, MN. Business is booming and we are actively seeking entry level and experienced OSP Engineers.
This position serves as a liaison between the customer and TelCom to provide administrative support and customer service. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Appropriately schedule and complete workload to ensure that critical engineering design due dates are strictly achieved. Create designs of feeder and distribution cable facilities using appropriate tools such as Microstation/Autocad.
• Access various databases that provide engineering and facility assignment records
• Pull reports and records to compile data and forward electronically to outside contract engineering company to design outside plant network work prints and associated FTTN Serving Terminal Worksheets
• Submit record corrections to facility engineers to resolve issues, correct exception reports, submit jobs to be updated in various databases, and oversee and submit record corrections and updates for the reports
• Prepare and acquire necessary permits for OSP facilities
• Calculates the cost of each engineered work order using appropriate unit pricing.
• Follows all company processes and procedures in regard to assigned work as well as
• Serve as primary point of contact for customer and employee inquiries and questions.
• All other duties as assigned
