Qualifications
•Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
•Experience Level: 2 years of basic cable installation and repairs. Preferred experience with digital video systems, DOCSIS cable modem installation and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
•Training and certifications: Holds or has completed STCE/NCTI or cable company equivalent certifications for a Broadband Technician technical position or equivalent. Candidate must produce certifications.

Job Description
Responsible for installation and repair of broadband internet and cable video services in the Shentel Cable systems. Services include basic and premium video services including the installation of digital set top boxes. Supports the installation of broadband internet access and voice services. Supports system troubleshooting and repairs. Included in an on-call schedule and expected to work Saturdays periodically. Daily customer contact concerning service problems and installation of equipment. Conditions include climbing, attics with fluctuating temperatures, small crawl spaces, heights, driving approximately 50 to 100 miles a day and working diverse hours.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Installs and repairs cable services including business and residential video services, broadband internet and phone service including wiring/cabling and hardware.
• Programs and configures digital set top boxes and other video appliances, assist customers with video configurations and installations.
• Installs and maintains coaxial cables and lines entering the customer premises from Shentel’s network.
• Operates and maintains climbing devices, ladders, hand and power tools and test equipment, while observing all company safety procedures.
