Job Description

Job Summary: The Director of Training and Safety will have national oversight of the Company’s training and safety programs to include but not limited to; new hire training program, new customer training, accident prevention and safety compliance.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Ensures that all training needs are consistently met at all sites
2. Plan and implement safety policies and procedures nationally while ensuring company and regulatory rules and policies are enforced
3. Provides reporting on training completion and performance through internal LMS and customer systems
4. Develops and enforces a national process for training and development of technicians
5. Evaluate training program by reviewing company performance to ensure quality expectations are being met
6. Provide recommendations regarding improving employee’s performance and training practices
7. Receive and analyze feedback from Project Managers on what is working and not working in the area of training and safety
8. Monitors and manages safety training to include but not limited to first aid, driver safety, ladder safety, fall protection and accident prevention for both new and existing employees
9. Maintains up to date knowledge of industry and company training requirements
10. Conducts and attends regular meetings with site level training staff
11. Regularly visits assigned sites for live training observations, inspection and validation of performance and successful execution of training processes
12. Regularly publish metrics and tools relevant to training and safety to help drive business strategies and performance
13. Ensure Company compliance with OSHA regulations
14. Host Serious Incident Review calls for serious and preventable accidents/injuries
15. Inspect facilities to detect existing or potential accidental and health hazards
16. Supports risk management and safety objectives as assigned
17. Familiar with Net Promoter Score (NPS) improvement.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school;
or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:
• Minimum of 5-10 years of Communications Industry Training experience

Technical Skills
• Advanced knowledge of cable installation techniques and procedures
• Knowledge of industry specific tools and equipment
• Maintain up to date knowledge of industry specific trainings, compliance and technology
• Competency to read reports and understand the Technician Performance Metrics
• Strong working knowledge and experience with performance-based training and curriculum design.
• Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency

• Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures
• Effective listening, interacting and writing skills
• Ability to adjust teaching speed to ensure no trainee is left behind
• Comfortable with public speaking in a classroom environment to groups
• Communicate in person, by phone with managers and co-workers
• Must work in a team environment and be a valued member of the team and the company
• Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:
• Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 75 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
• May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
• Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather
• Must possess valid driver’s license
• Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
