Job Description
Operating a utility bucket van from job site to job site. Installing/splicing fiber optic cable in commercial buildings, and cell towers. Analyze fiber design maps, and work orders provided to you by the Project Managers. Ensure the correct materials are loaded for your shifts work.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Analyze fiber design maps and work orders provided to you by the Project Manager.
• Ensure the correct materials are loaded for your shifts work.
• Set up the job site with appropriate regard for traffic safety (utilizing flags and cones).
• Rod and place rope in inner ducts and conduits.
• Place fiber optic cable in inner ducts and conduits.
• Communicate effectively internally to provide relevant project updates.
• Will perform fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable.
• OTDR testing fiber from end to end.
• Splicing, terminating and breakout of outside (loose tube) plant fiber.
• Splicing, terminating and breakout of indoor tight buffered multi mode and single-mode fiber.
• Will need to be available to work nights on a short notice.
Desired Qualifications:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in coaxial or electrical installation.
• Must have a valid driver's license, clean driving record is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to work at heights, off ladders and in confined spaces and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to see and distinguish different colors and read small print.
Training available for appropriate candidates
Salary
$29,000.00 -- $37,000.00 depending on experience
