Will discuss upon submitted NDA and example work, DOE. Will need work examples, resume and NDA for discussions.
Qualifications
Must be experienced in Fiber, HFC, Wireless Design, and/or CAD operations and able to submit recent examples of design, CAD work for expertise area. Candidate must be able analyze utility maps provided by various municipalities to draft right of way permit applications. Experience in right of way permitting for utility placement is beneficial. (training and software provided for the right CAD capable candidates) Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Other Requirements
Candidates MUST submit examples of previous work to submit, redaction approved. Experience with right of way researching / permitting for underground utility construction Creation of civil base map / site plans from various data sets (GIS, PDF, Aerial mapping programs, and more), as well as creation from scratch using field notes and photos from fielding engineer is preferred. Highly detail-oriented, self-starter required.
Job Description
Ability to use AutoCAD to draft permits to specific municipality specifications. Skill with ESRI ArcGIS a major bonus. Knowledge of underground utilities, ISP and OSP cabling infrastructure a plus. Adobe Acrobat experience a PLUS. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet project delivery dates.
Support the creation and final output of the communications in/out side plant deign documents that shall be used for submission to permitting authorities and creation of final cad construction drawings (civil & engineering)
Able to meet customer deadlines. The work consists of new builds, maintenance, and restoration in rural and metro areas. Read prints and demonstrate good judgement in spatial awareness. Able to work as a team in tandem with project manager and other crew members. Perform all duties adhering to company safety procedures and policies. Must be able to create and maintain schedules to track the progress of all assigned duties. Experience with traffic control permits preferred, but not required to start. Must be able and willing to learn traffic control permit drafting. Packages include plans, profiles, typical details, restoration plans, site photographs, and traffic control plans. Project follow-up by means of Project Revisions and As-Built document set. Occasional field survey work.
Designs broadband communication systems using various design software packages. Produces layout designs for coaxial and fiber placement, and fiber routing and connectivity. Verifies designs are in adherence to regional hybrid fiber coax (HFC) architecture and design specifications.
Conducts analysis to determine efficiency, equipment economy, and systems operation simplicity.
Collaborates with outside vendors in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Develops criteria and performance specifications required to meet unique operating requirements, building codes, and safety codes.
Inspects construction and installation to ensure adherence to established drawings, specifications and schedules.
Prepares special keys, charts, diagrams, and graphic drawings for use by other departments. Updates and maintains system maps, keys, and design files. Tracks and keeps current system spreadsheets and documents.
Reviews and estimates design costs and generates project packages for construction including design prints, bill of materials, and materials and equipment ordering information. Prepares bid sheets and contracts.
Completes field surveys for identifying new service areas and assists in the resolution of customer service complaints related to construction activity. Works with customers and contractors to plan and schedule work. Provides customer service personnel with periodic progress reports of service requests.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
