Field Survey Technician – Telecommunications

Based out of Chino, CA – Coverage area includes San Bernandino, Corona, Riverside & Orange Counties

Description:
Source Broadband Services is seeking fulltime FIELD SURVEY TECH interested in building a long-term career in the telecommunications industry. We are interested in adding reliable, knowledgeable, players to our TEAM.

Qualifications:

• Must have 5 years CATV / Fiber Optic design or construction experience
• Must have knowledge of aerial and underground construction practices
• A working knowledge of the GO 95, GO 128 and installation practices and procedures
• Must be able to read CATV system prints and decipher all CATV and Fiber Related equipment in the field.
• Ability to professionally interact with customer representatives, city employees, and property owners
• Working knowledge of easements and Right of Entry
• Make-Ready and state permitting experience preferred
• Know how to operate a cable locator
• Must be very detail oriented
• Must be able to read and legibly write in English. Good verbal and written communication skills are a MUST.
• Must be able to work independently to complete scheduled surveys on a daily basis
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
• Must be able to pass pre-employment testing to include a drug screen, background check, and MVR - Acceptable MVR results are required to operate a Company Vehicle
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States – We participate in E Verify.

Must be able to meet customer deadlines -
The majority of our work is performed under master service agreements with telecom carriers and regional utilities. The work consists of new builds, maintenance, and restoration in rural and metro areas.

The scope of work varies between each job and candidates must be able to:
•Read prints and demonstrate good judgement in the field
•Work as a team in tandem with project manager and other crew members
•Perform all duties adhering to company safety procedures and policies
